Rotational alignment and other features...

I've been using Masuji Suto's StereoPhoto Maker (SPM) on my Mac
for many years now, thanks to WINE. SPM is loaded with features,
perhaps too many, which doesn't make it an easy program to use.
But the most painful part is having to do Windows style file and
folder navigation.

That's why I was excited to find your Native Mac application for
manipulating 3D photos. I purchased it just now and have been
playing with it, and it is indeed very easy to use. I
particularly like how easy the crop feature works and the
keyboard shortcuts for doing alignment and rotation. I hope
you'll consider some possible enhancements for what is already a
very useful program.

1) Rotational alignment. When doing cha-chas and twin camera 3D
photos, it is not uncommon to have rotational errors between
the two images. It would be very helpful to have the ability
to rotate (level) just one of the images relative to the other
in order to correct for this.

2) Auto alignment using homologous points. SPM and other Windows
3D photo programs offer the ability to automatically align
stereo pairs. While not an easy problem to solve, perhaps
there are some software libraries in Apple land, designed to
aid in aligning and stitching panoramic photos, that could be
used to identify the homologous points in each photo to allow
this feature.

3) Batch processing. I've read all the comments in the Stereo
Master support section and understand the limitation that
the Apple's sand-boxing of the app prevents you from searching
folders for image files. Perhaps the solution would be to
sell a 'pro' version of the App outside of the App Store?

4) Related to #3 would be auto-pairing of L/R pairs within a folder
or two side-by-side folders.

Thank you for taking the time to read my comments and
suggestions. I will continue to kick the tires on the app and
submit a review to the Yahoo Photo 3D group...

As with the rest of the world, most of the folks (1200 members)
are Windows users, but there are also a number of Mac people such
as myself. I'm sure news of a dedicated Mac 3D photo program
will be of interest.
