Syntax error

T$ = “Name”
Print T$

Compiler errors out at “

?

Thank you very much, I was able to correct the problem by changing a setting in Keyboard. I turned Smart Punctuation off. It was by luck it worked.

That might be Apple's way of providing backward compatibility more than luck.
