I just looked more closely at some prior posts in this thread.

Henk, you suggested that:
There might be a solution in which the adress of the PC is fetched by either the SB function or by the Python webserver code
The tricky thing here is that even if Python on the PC could fetch the PC's address, it would still have to be manually entered into the SB code so that iOS would direct the print stream to the PC. I can't fathom how Smart Basic could find the IP address of a PC while running on a different device, but maybe someone out there knows the answer.

For now I will put ipconfig on a shortcut on the toolbar so that I can quickly fetch the PC's address.

Interesting findings, and indeed : detecting the PC IP adress on the PC won't do any good for the SB program.

As for the mysterious hidden characters in the text, you could use my SB "Hexviewer" program to inspect the exact content of a text file.

The printing facility might be a usefull functional extension to your Datamine DB app.

Thanks. I will scan the input text file with Hexviewer today. I would like to make a code solution to eliminate the hidden characters, once I know exactly where they are concealed.

I foresee adding the your print server code to several of my programs, :D
