PDF-manual 5.7

Post by Dutchman »

The updated PDF manual version 5.7 is available in the DropBox-folder https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zpsvd55g1iyj ... 6kigwAdqGa
or in short: http://bit.ly/1vwIPHn

Version 5.7 is a maintenance update, no new commands or extensions.
The manual is extended with:
– “Notes on GPS data“ on page 67
– “Importing GIF-files“ on page 19
– extended info on complex numbers on page 22
– improved usage of text-input fields on page 34
– added missing commands in subchapter “Device properties“ on page 68
SET ORIENTATION VERTICAL
SET ORIENTATION HORIZONTAL
– corrected maximum integer number to 2^53 on page 6
– Notes on font-size on pages 43 and 71
– Notes on undocumented size-feature of fields and browsers on page 37

"Smart Basic Manual 5-7.pdf" is in size A5, which fits perfectly on iPad and can be used to search certain items.
The booklet-version on A4 is no longer supported.
Adobe Reader has facilities to generate the booklet version on A4-pages. It should also fit on 'US legal' size.

Modification date of the manual is on the front cover.

I printed the 5.6 on letter sized paper. Are you saying that the new manual is legal size only, or will I still be able to print the changes you made on letter size paper?

Thanks.

PS. I have been grabbing lots of samples for the Programmers Guide and I expect that it will take me about six months to get the first copy of it done. Do you or Mr. Kibernetik wish to review it first before I make it available to everyone?

Let me know.

In previous versions there was a "serial" version on A5-size, and a "booklet" version on A4-size.
The "booklet" was intended to print it and fold it as A5-size booklet. Someone from the USA made the comment that it also fits on "legal" size.

With the latest edition I decided to publish the "serial" version only.
Commercial, cq professional print-shops can handle that version for making an A5-sized booklet.
If someone wants to print it as a booklet, with two pages on a single sheet, then he can use Adobe Reader to do that job.

Got it. I too will only produce the serial A5-size for the programmer's guide.

With the A5-size, a printer could spiral-bind the manual, either with a wire spiral or those plastic tabs.

I just put mine in a 3-ring binder.

Thanks.

George.

Thanks for putting so much effort into a proper manual. I've found it invaluable. In fact, if it weren't for your manual, I may not have decided to focus primarily on smart BASIC to begin with. I'm very much manual driven. Great work! :D
smart BASIC Rocks!
