Unlimited Scrolling

Post by rbytes »

I just discovered an undocumented feature of smart Basic that lets me create an almost unlimited amount of smooth scrolling text. I have created a teleprompter using this feature, and would like to post it here in Basic Programs. But I see that the last three program posts were mine!

I see other Forum members asking for help and ideas, mostly for apps they are creating for the App Store. I don't see many posts from them in Basic Programs. I hope that there are still members willing to share code rather than just borrow ideas and code from others. I understand that a programmer would not want to share the complete code from a for-sale program, but how about an excerpt, an alpha or beta version, or even a useful function or two?

Thanks for listening.

I'm listening :D and visit this forum almost every day.
I admire your contributions and that is undoubtedly true for other forum members too.
My activities are now, however, focused on things other than programming.
In addition, there must be a good reason to program something and I do not have such ideas at this moment.
So please post your ideas and they might trigger new developments.

Well, because it is you asking, Ton, I will post my first version of my prompter program in Basic Programs. I have several more advanced versions of it now, including one that uses a browser instead of a field to hold the scrolling text. It turns out that browser height is just as expandable as field height. Check my code for Prompter 1.0 and you'll see what I mean.

I will post the more advanced versions after someone else makes a contribution. It true that they can learn from my program posts. But I would like to have the same opportunity. :)
