In the video "get from dropbox.mp4" I get the whole collection of smart BASIC files from Dropbox to the new application "BASIC".
I do the following:
1. In Safari I go to www.dropbox.com website and download the whole "smart BASIC" application folder. It gets saved as a ZIP archive into the "Files" application.
2. I switch to "Files" app and press this ZIP archive. It gets unzipped into a folder.
3. I share this unzipped folder with "BASIC" application.
I cannot perform step 3.
As soon as I touch 'share', I don't see the Basic app as a possible target.
In fact, I don't see any app.
I have an iPad Air (year 2016) with final updated iOS 12.4.9
How can I activate 'Basic' in the 'share community' ?

Did you install new BASIC application?
It should be available as a Share destination if it is installed.

Yes, and the content of the old Smart Basic app is now in a zip file via step 1. Being in step 2, I cannot execute step 3 because no token or other reference appears to the Basic app after touching the ' share 'button.
I am concerned that the latest iOS version (12.4.9) of this iPad Air from 2016 does not give the desired facility.
I also have serious problems with the synchronisation of 'Calendar' and Safari favourites.
Apple seems to think 4 years is enough for the lifespan of an iPad.
Hopefully help will come from one of the members who also own an 'antique' iPad.

The BASIC app was tested on the latest iOS v14 only.
Backwards compatibility for older iOS versions up to v12 depends on iOS libraries compatibility.

Thank you for your information. This seems to be a problem and needs to be investigated.

I have managed to upload a BASIC folder to Dropbox. However, I don't seem to get the same screen as shown in the video. I don't get a Download option. In any case, the Share option in SB-6 only has the choice of saving TO the files folder, not loading FROM the Files folder.

I have transferred a number of files by Copy/Pasting the text of individual files from SB-5.8 to SB-6. It's a pain, but manageable once you get the "swing" of it. (Don't do too many at one sitting or you start to make mistakes.) I think I will get them done this way before I can get the Dropbox thing working.

Smart BASIC is a terrific app, and I will keep using it even with an inconvenience such as this.

Download option you can get in Safari app on the www.dropbox.com website.

I can confirm that.
The copy failed on an iPad air 2 from 2016/2017 with iOS version 13.3.1
After upgrading to iOS 14.2 the procedure worked.
On my new iPad 2019 with iOS 14.0.1, the procedure worked right away.

I made a note about that procedure (credits for Rbytes for the dropbox investigation):

Copying a folder from sB 5.8 to Basic 6

Suppose the folder is named "this_one".
A Dropbox account is a necessity.

1. In sB 5.8, use the dropbox feature to copy/paste "this_one" to Dropbox.
2. Log on to the website "dropbox.com". (Don't use the Dropbox app)
3. Touch the "Smart Basic" folder -> the "this_one" folder appears.
4. Mark the checkbox ib front of the folder
5. Touch the menu token "..." upper right in the screen -> menu appears
6. Touch "Download" and confirm the download question
7. Quit Dropbox, and start the Apple "Files" program.
8. Touch the "this_one.zip" file -> the folder "this_one" appears
9. Touch "Select" and mark the "this_one" folder as selected
10. Touch "Share" (left bottom) -> destinations appear
11. Find/Scroll to "Smart Basic" icon and touch it
12. Upon start of Basic 6, the folder is present.
13. If the folder contained subfolders, some reorganization may be in order.

Well detailed description.
I did it this way, but got stuck at step 11 because no '(Smart) Basic' token appeared.
In 'Files' I can only see 'GoodReader' as a target for sharing. This is an app that has been on my iPad for years and is systematically updated.
The problem is apparently the old iOS version of this 'antique' iPad:

So in principle the sharing facility seems possible in iOS 12.4.9

What happens when you press "Share" button in Files view section of the BASIC app? This button transfers files from BASIC to iOS apps.
