To get rid of black strips around the map, I can suggest to paint background with cyan color which exists on map as color of water.
I added a bar with signature as lower border for the display, in style with the top bar.
When continuously pressing the map, info window blinks, showing the same information again and again.
That is fixed now.
Yellow/red coordinates window probably now looks a bit out-of-style near this super-cool info window.
Indeed that was ugly. I changed it in style with the other panel.
In smart BASIC there is possibility to set different styles of lines, like dashed or dotted line. Probably you will like it to be used for distance red line.
I was not aware of the facility to draw dashed lines.
I have used it now to make the line 'moving' between home and the selected city.

You keep me busy :D
I have updated the original post, including the screenshot and the link to the updated files.
I would like to know if the display is not moving too fast on the newest iPhone.
Can somebody test that?
In that case I will add a timing control.

New running version of red line looks very interesting! But now blue home circle is also affected...

Your map style now looks great :!:

Display speed seems Ok for me, although iOS Simulator is almost as fast as iPhone 5S.

For some reason (a bug?) drawing the moving line before the home-circle corrupted the home-circle.
I have changed their positions in the flow of the function PlotHome(x,y) in file MercatorWorld-b.
Now the home-circle is not corrupted.
Some other small changes are made and the zipped folder is updated.

If you set line style, then it continues to all next drawing lines

Re: MercatorWorld is now multilingual

Post by Dutchman »

I have added a dictionary "languages.txt" as dictionary to make the program multilingual.
Available languages are: English, Dutch, German and French.
Feel free to correct my translations :) or to add another language :D

The zipped folder is updated.
The language can be set by changing the label after RESTORE TO … in the beginning of the program where the Dict$ array is filled.
The names of the cities and the countries remain in English.

Ton, can you share not a ZIPped file but a folder with your program in Dropbox?

Because currently it is not very easy to deliver contents of ZIPped file into Dropbox:
in Dropbox there is no feature to UNZIP file into folder, and there is no feature to upload a folder. So user has to download ZIP to computer, unzip it, and upload almost file-by-file its contents to Dropbox.

I think that probably it will be nice to add a feature in smart BASIC to unzip files into folders. This way it will be possible just copy ZIPped file to Dropbox and UNZIP it right in sB. I need to investigate this possibility...

But for now a link to full folder will be very appreciated!

I make modifications and zip via my computer.
I did not think of problems to unzip on the iPad or iPhone. Sorry ;)
The folder-adress is added to my first post on this subject.
I will now begin efforts to add the Netherlands to MercatorWorld.
