I am revisiting smart basic (basic?). I know this forum is used very little now by the look of it, but I had to make this post because I for one have got a renewed interest in the "newest" version of Smart Basic and intend to reminisce and start using it after paying for the software. I paid nearly £12 for the software, but I think well worth it, after realising how powerful it is. I have not done any serious programming for a while, but I intend to now.

I was previously using it and wasn't pleased when a charge was placed on the software and I stopped using it. But I realise now after all this time (even though it has been discontinued) that its a fantastic version of the old faithful BASIC.

I have to say smbstarv, this was a fun and great music score produced using smart basic. I don't know if this is a music score that you have reproduced or produced yourself, if you have reproduced it, that is pretty good, but if you have produced it, I bow to your music talent.

Its really sad and a real shame that smart basic interest on here has all but disappeared, but it would be great if it started getting more interest again, because I think its one of the best versions of basic I've found and to be honest the only decent version (if not solely) on the iPad.

I really hope that Mr.Kibernetik has a change of heart and brings it back to life and that the interest for the product is re-ignited. I will certainly be using it in anger, even if I am the only one doing so (fingers crossed I'm not).

Beautiful melody 'smbstarv'.
I don't have the knowledge to make this myself, that's why I admire this, whether it's played alone or also composed.
I also admire the programming. Nicely structured!

I share the disappointment of 'vincesb', that this forum is so little used.
I've posted a lot on it in the past, but the inspiration has disappeared after some members disappeared after a period of missing updates.
Fortunately, MrKibernetik (in another person?) has made the necessary adjustments and Smart Basic is again the excellent app that it was.
New programs will probably also encourage me to program again.
I check almost every day to see if there is any news.

'smbstarv' is an awesome programmer (coder?). He has helped me with issues I didn't understand many times.

I really miss all the former "regular" members and their examples of what they have done with BASIC! formally known as SMARTBASIC).

I'm not sure if they stopped because they didn't have the new address for the forum or other reason but I check for new post every day.

I truly appreciate that Mr. Kibernetik responds so quickly to posts needing developer support as well as keeping the app up to date with revisions- THANK YOU, MR. K.

Too bad there isn't an easy way to send out a "blast" survey email to all members asking why the participation is so low.

Smart BASIC is not (and was not) discontinued. The previous update was 1 month ago.

Actually there was a mass email dispatch, notifying about the Forum address change. The Forum link in the application is also updated.

It was not a period of missing updates. All updates are timely and when necessary.
It was after a couple of Forum members misused their right of free speaking and organized a sabotage against the Forum moderation. After disciplinary measures taken, several active members quit in solidarity with saboteurs. It was their free decision.

My mistake Mr K, I must have misread. I cant imagine how difficult it must be to run a forum like this and keep things friendly and helpful. A lot of what I have seen on here has been helpful and interesting and gives a lot of encouragement to others, myself included, to get some interest and involvement back into this forum and to your great programming tool Mr K.

I work some long hours, so don't get on here as much as I'd like. I have a few simple old favourites that I'd like to develop with basic (why did it change to "basic", from smartBasic). When I get some time, I will be posting some of my coding (beginners). Ill obviously start a new thread.
